Qualification Details

IDAD is a qualification that runs over the course of the first two years of high school level education and will introduce young aspiring creatives to project-based art and design and train them in academic English. IDAD is designed to be a course that provides the necessary training in both academic English and study skills to allow for a smooth transition from high school level learning to international undergraduate study. There are twelve units to this curriculum, and each has been created to provide an incremental progression up to the university level. The IDAD provide students the best opportunities possible to ultimately secure a place at one of our partner institutions.

The IDAD Curriculum provides high school students with the fundamental skills necessary to progress to becoming students in Art & Design in an international university. This curriculum is designed to have the students simultaneously studying English for academic purposes, receiving training in studio fundamentals, and taking on independent research projects. International university programmes require students to show proof independent and creative thinking in addition to creating an impressive portfolio – by completing this diploma, students will obtain both, and receive training that will make for a seamless progression to an international university of their choice. In this course, students will study art and design from practical, historical, contextual, and theoretical perspectives. Adopting each of these various stances enable students to obtain multifaceted understandings of art and design. The curriculum is to be taught over the final two years of high school and it consists of thirteen individual units which may run alongside core high school curricula.

Student must have completed 9 years compulsory education and be aged 15+.
